Maxfactor Facefinity: All Day Flawless

I am always on the hunt for a perfect foundation and as you may know I have worn the Clarins Everlasting Foundation for sometime now. I have particularly pale skin and so find it very hard to find one that doesn't make me look too orange, because of this I can only find foundations that are relatively expensive that will match to my skintone, hence wearing Clarins for a long time. Now, while I don't mind paying the extra for foundation, as for me I find that the difference is noticable between drug store brands and higher end products, I have always wanted a cheaper alternative for more everyday use. As I have no personal income it's quite often a wait until I have the money for my favourite foundation and so to find a cheap alternative is fantastic. Enter Maxfactor!
This foundation is only £11.99 (quite a lot cheaper than my usual £24) and I am in love with it! I would definitely repurchase this product and would most certainly say that it was nearly as good if not on par with my Clarins. It gives the same finish, however if you are a fan of a totally matte look you would need to powder. It has great lasting power - I apply at around 7:00am and it lasts until well after 8:00pm with minor touch ups during the day (I do this with every foundation as I get paranoid about my freckles popping out!). If you are pale like me, you can definitely purchase this. I would highly recommend this to anyone, with any skin type as it is not too drying and not too oily. I'd say this was the perfect drug store foundation.

L'oreal Volume Million Lashes

Going to start this review by saying how much I absolutely love this mascara! I think I'm a little bit in love! The first photo is my natural, un-mascara-ed eyelashes, then the second is one coat of this mascara and the third is two coats. Now I usually do about 5 coats of mascara because I love my lashes really black and thick. I already have quite long eyelashes to start with and so I generally only look for volume in a mascara; amazingly I only need about two/three coats of this mascara to get the kind of look I go for. It's phenomenal.
I feel like I might be slightly overselling this mascara but it is honestly amazing. It is without doubt, worthy of the £10.99 price tag which to me is relatively cheap for the quality of it.
I got the 'extra black' version of the mascara and it is a true inky, deep black which is another thing I look for in a mascara as I have such dark hair. There is a normal black/brown one in the range and then there are the ones that have tints specifically for those with different eye colours. There are a blue, green, brown and hazel one I think. I have tried one of these - it was my mam's for green eyes. I have blue eyes so I wasn't expecting miracles, and I was right, the 'tint' is barely noticeable and didn't really enhance anything however, the mascara was amazing which led me to buy this one.
The brush is made of plastic bristles, and I have to admit, I hate it! I've personally never been a fan of the plastic bristles - I've always much preferred the proper brush-y type bristles on a really fat wand. This is no better than other plastic bristled wands, however I have had to overlook this small hiccup seeing as the mascara is so great. People who like plastic brushes with love this, it might not be for people more like me who maybe can't overlook it.
I would also say that, this is perfect for me because I like quite clumpy, stick-like mascaras that give a quite doll-eyed look. If this is not your style and you don't like thick and heavy mascara and would prefer a much more natural look then this mascara is most definitely not for you.
All in all, I love this mascara, it has only one fault, but that is down to my personal preference. I really couldn't recommend this product enough.

Apologies for being a little MIA again, but I have two posts lined up for tonight and a few ideas for posts I would like to do quite soon.
I've had such a fantastic week this week; last Sunday and Monday, Evolution festival was on at the Quayside in Newcastle and so me and Ashleigh bought tickets. It was really good and 'm actually really pleased I went seeing as I was a little skeptical at first. I basically paid to see two bands (Miles Kane & Noah and the Whale) but ended up really enjoying some of the people that I  hadn't expected to which was a nice surprise!
   Over the weekend I saw;
  • Noah and the Whale
  • Miles Kane
  • Devlin
  • Spector
  • Rizzle Kicks
  • Dizzee Rascal
  • Deadmau5
  • Band of Skulls
  • DJ Fresh (which we walked out of as he was terrible)
  • Dog is Dead
  • The Milk
Deadmau5 was the biggest surprise as I was pretty positive that I hated him but I absolutely loved his set! It was great as it was the last act of the last day and he sent you away feeling incredibly bouncy after his amazing 'beats'. (actually feel awkward writing that *cringe*)
I did photograph the outfit I wore on Sunday but unfortunately they didn't turn out great and so I couldn't put them on here- I wore a white baggy vest from H&M, the same denim shorts (what a scruff) and the suspender type tights.

After what was an amazing weekend I also went to see Coldplay at the Stadium on Thursday which was absolutely fantastic! I'm still in awe at the amazing show that they put on for us and would happily go back again tonight and tomorrow and the next day etc...

I hope everyone else has had a brilliant week!

Back for Good

Sorry about the terrible lighting in these photos, but, I am finally back to blogging. I don't even know why I left- I just got so sick of blogging and having the hassle of having to think of blog posts but as they say, 'you don't know what you have until it's gone'. And I have most definitely missed having my blog there as something to do. So from now on I am going to try to post a hell of a lot more regularly!
I've also had a bit of a blog transformation; I thought that because I hope to be this all new 'actually blogging-blogger' that I would have an overhaul to the design of my blog and I have to say- I like it so much more! The pure white blandness has gone and my blog is now COLOURFUL!
So this is a skirt I have very recently purchased in New Look for the bargain price of only £14.99! The top I have also recently purchased, for another bargainous (don't think that's a word) price of £4.99 from H&M! I adore this skirt, I've been after a maxi skirt for a while, and although they make me look even shorter than I am, I just love maxi things! I can't wait to wear this in the summer with converse and a t-shirt to just go shopping in something cool! I must admit, I'm not a fan of summer clothing- winter layers definitely do it for me, but I got incredibly exited at the prospect of wearing this! This is also my Alexander McQueen inspired scarf which I really like but never seem to wear, so I thought I might pair it with this outfit and I actually do like it.
I would also like to introduce you to a new addition to the family, this little kitten is Bob and we also have another one - his brother - who is called Archie. They are absolutely adorable, if not a little naughty but you only have to take one look at their little faces to forgive their naughtiness!
Not a very long post today, but I'm just happy to say that I am finally back in the blogging mood and to (hopefully) expect some more posts quite soon!
